人物簡介
“I think our beautiful culture is the important asset for next generation. I’ve always tried to preserve it as much as I could. I really hope to see a vessel coming from our ancient culture to our children’s hearts which beats strongly in our heritage.” —Yuma Taru
Yuma Taru, Atayal, is from Mabanan village in Miaoli county. At the age of 29, Yuma quit her job as a bureaucrat and moved back to the tribe to revive Atayal’s textile techniques. After finishing her 3-year field research and dissertation on Atayal’s traditional textile, she has created the “Lihang Workshop” – which is dedicated to the preservation of traditional clothing.
