人物簡介
Bunun artist Eval Malinjinnan used to live in Japan and U.S.A. She noticed the lively development of indigenous art in Australia in the past years. Inspired by that, she starts exploring the application of storytelling in her paintings and gives multiple layers to her works.
Malinjinnan wonders: being an indigenous artist, would there be other ways to present the different cultural perspectives of Taiwan but going to arts markets? Having the challenges of losing traditional culture, Malinjinnan believes that indigenous artists should undertake a mission of being cultural bridges to promote traditional culture as well as to respect each other’s differences. Her works are therefore based on Bunun culture and mixed with various perspectives. It’s her wish to celebrate Taiwan’s cultural diversity by her art works.
