作品簡介
Umaq means house in the Paiwan language - it is also where family, guarding, and ancestral spirits reside. Umaq is where every Paiwan person originates in and where they return once they pass away. This performance is edited with contemporary indigenous dance aesthetics and by using contemporary dance vocabulary reinterprets the culture and traditions of the indigenous community. In addition to creating more diverse experiences in one's senses, this work aims to have a dialogue between community culture and the audience. It also hopes to increase the public's understanding of stone houses and what they stand for, tell stories of traditional cultures, and become antennas for spreading indigenous cultures.
