Nikar
Amis performance artist.
Where we stand
Make a knot at the end of a miscanthus, allow me getting into Thy body
In autumn
The wind flows between the spikes of miscanthus
The miscanthus dance with the song of the wind
When they are ready to go
They will follow the direction of the wind
In spring
He will strive to hold his head up
Not willing to be flooded by pasture
Our lives are full of rituals and songs
Amis has such a rich heritage in music; I refuse to believe that the Amis ancient tune can be only explained as “syntactic words”. If the songs we sing at ceremony are meaningless, then why do we sing? Could those songs we have been singing for thousands of years are just another language that we have lost and forgotten?
