Lahok Oding

Lahok Oding is from Makotaay, Fengbin township in Hualien county. Indigenous elements or totems rarely appear in her works. After moving out of village and living in urban life over twenty years, Lahok experiences confusion, contradiction and collision of her own identity. The disrupt and fracture between her cognition and emotion are displayed in her pieces. Lahok is actually an autodidact in painting. Extensive reading and exhibition viewing construct also enrich her creativity. The abstract and passionate strokes delicately reveal her talent in her aboriginal blood.
