人物簡介
Halomai, Pangcah people of Piyoho community in Taitung County. Her father’s side is Presbyterian, so they are not allowed to participate in rituals including the Harvest Festival. Her mother’s side continued to participate each year, keeping her in the loop of the Pangcah people since a young age, but she still feels like a stranger every now and then when facing her own culture and have also regretted that she couldn’t really feel that cultural identity. It wasn’t until 2010 when Halomai saw bark cloth in Atolan community, the traditional Pangcah craft for making clothes, that she found self-recognition during the process of learning such craftsmanship, connecting her to her own people. She is committed to inheriting the indigenous bark cloth culture and to its creative marriage with contemporary textile aesthetics.
