Lin Chiao

Music

Lin Chiao, Atayal people of Dongyue community in Yilan county. Studying in France at the age of 19, majoring in jazz piano and oboe while studying improvisation performance, arranging and composing, and received a diploma in performance from Schools Des Beaux Arts De Versailles. During her stay in France, she studied under the famous French jazz pianist Serge Forte and performed in many Paris Jazz Festivals. She returned to hometown Yilan in Taiwan in 2014 and is currently the music director of A Root. Mainly the composer and keyboarder, she is dedicated to musical creation that combines local culture, and actively take part in crossover performance and art creation. After the transnational cultural fusion, she reflected on her origin and progression, the subconsciously rooted cries build the dreamlike fantasies, she sees her true self in trance and embarks on a journey to seek her root through musical creation.
