Sabra · Andre Paiwan people of Dawu in Taitung county. Paiwan culture is the source of his muse, including indigenous totems, myths and wisdom. He sees creation as his process of internalizing the individual and culture, illustrates the cultural context and story through clothes, and expresses the cultural essence amidst the deconstruction and reinterpretation. He also quotes images from architectures, like the structural elements of the Gothic architecture and art deco, “...you can see explicit architectural structures in my clothes, clothes require the dot, line and plane to form a space that will cover the human body, so clothes itself is a soft architecture itself.” By collaging different materials, the twists and turns of the costume contour is demonstrated with a hint of firmness within the tender expression, retro yet avant-garde, and a sense of technology.
