撒部‧噶照生於1978年，花蓮港口部落阿美族人，創作內容以部落文化生活、山林海洋環境議題為根基，創作形式包括了雕刻、泥塑、裝置、編織、音樂等。作品風格呈現海洋波浪的線性流動感，紮實的結構與細緻的紋理，蘊涵深深的土地情感，將母體文化給他的滋養轉化為當代的符號。
Sapud Kacaw was born in 1978. Hualien Makotaay Pangcah People. His creative content is based on tribal cultural life and mountain, forest and marine environmental issues. His creative forms include sculpture, clay sculpture, installation, weaving, music, etc. The style of the work presents the linear flow of ocean waves, solid structure and meticulous texture, and contains deep emotions of the land, transforming the nourishment given to him by the mother culture into contemporary symbols.
